After much prayer, discussion, and weighing of current circumstances, the Lay Council has decided that The Ripley Church will return to face to face meetings beginning May 10th.

No doubt there will be some in our Ripley Church family who will not be ready to return on May 10th or even for some time longer. That is very understandable. With this in mind, we will continue to make the Sunday morning service available via the internet. For those who would like to attend service but want to maintain their distance, the Ministry Center will have open seating with live audio and visual from the sanctuary. We look forward to the day when we are all in the company of one another. Each member of our church family is loved and vital to the whole.

Sunday School class will resume. But for now, there will be no Nursery, Junior Church, Koinonia, Youth Book Club, or Awana. The Christian Education Committee is currently talking over whether or not to hold Vacation Bible School this summer. We will let you know if/when these ministries start again.

As we begin meeting in person, please keep in mind that your fellow worshipers have different degrees of concern. The Scripture tells us to be careful about making accusations and judging.

“You must make it your habit to speak and act like people who are going to be judged by the law of liberty. For the one who has shown no mercy will be judged without mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.” (James 2:12-13)

The medical community has done a good job explaining the importance of good hygiene in preventing the spread of germs and viruses. To the best of your ability, we encourage you to continue observing these guidelines while at church. The Board of Trustees would like to remind you they are still in the process of searching for a new custodian. Contact Dan McClaflin directly if you would like more information.

Thank you for praying for us as we wrestled with this decision. If we were in Greenwich Village of New York City fame, our decision would have looked different.  Our state has been spared the brunt of this serious virus and for that we thank God. Please continue to pray for our nation and its leaders.

Sincerely,
The Ripley Church Lay Council

The Trustees are looking for a new church custodian as the custodian recently got married and moved out of the area. Anyone interested in the position can contact Dan McClaflin or the church office.
The “Our Daily Bread” devotionals for March-April-May have arrived at the church. If you would like a copy, please contact the church office.
If you enjoy mowing lawn, the Trustees have just the job for you! They would like to hire someone to mow the church grounds this summer. Please contact Dan McClaflin if you are interested in learning more.
