Operation Christmas Child Flying ShoeboxA representative from Operation Christmas Child’s ‘Full Circle’ program will be speaking here at The Ripley Church, Sunday, September 15th, at 2:00 P.M. The speaker, named Alex, received an Operation Christmas Child shoebox when he was an orphan in Rwanda. He has a wonderful story to tell of how God used the gift box to change his life. This special event is being sponsored by Samaritan’s Purse and is open to the public. There will be refreshments served afterwards. You won’t want to miss out on this event!

The Missions Committee will need help filling the volunteer positions necessary for the event. If you would like to help, please stop by the Information Center and sign up. While there, pick up a flyer to give to a friend.

Learn More About the Guest Speaker

September is the last month to donate items to Operation Christmas Child. We are collecting games that fit in a shoebox such as small puzzles, card games, and tic-tac-toe boards. For the older boys: Duct tape, small tools, harmonicas, solar powered flashlights, brightly colored rope, twine, or paracord.
Returning September 16th - Awana Kids’ Club. Awana is a world-wide ministry focused on providing Bible-based evangelism and discipleship for children. Our local Awana Club gives children ages K-6th grade the opportunity to have fun, know, love, and serve Jesus, no matter their background. Awana meets at 6:00 p.m. Monday evenings.
The ‘Ripley Lunch Bunch’ will meet Wednesday, September 18th, for lunch at Jim’s Pizza Box, 10 N. Main Street, Milan, Ohio. Please sign up at the Information Center if you plan to go. If you wish to car pool, please be at the church by 11:30 am.
You are invited to The Ripley Church Library Fall Open House in celebration of our newly reorganized church library. The open house will be held next Sunday, September 22nd, following the morning service. The open house will be an opportunity to learn what books are available and how to check them out, as well as enjoying some treats!
‘On the Porch’ Bible studies continue - inside! The study will be held Thursday, September 26th, at 6:30 p.m., at the home of Hazel Willett. Hazel will be the speaker offering a peek at how the Bible was written. Hope to see you there!
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elaine Barman, wife of former Ripley Church associate pastor, Kurt Barman. (View service details here.) Over the next two Sundays we will take a love offering for the Barman family. If you wish to donate, mark your check or envelop “Barman Family.”
The church office will be closed Monday, September 16th to allow the staff to attend the funeral of Elaine Barman.
