"WHY WE LOVE ORPHANS"
FOSTER CARE. ADOPTION. ORPHAN CARE.
We love because He first loved us.

Why Love Orphans? from Christian Alliance for Orphans on Vimeo.

There are roughly 420,000 children in the foster system in the U.S. today, with nearly 120,00 waiting to be adoped. Globally, an estimated 18.3 million children have lost both parents.

And, there are countless "social orphans" around us in our community and schools. Social orphans come from families where the child cannot be cared for because of incarceration, poverty, physical abuse, and abandonment.

Here are ways that you can help children in distress:

  • Take and fill a bank for Harbor House.
  • Participate in the Christmas Castle program. Tags will be available the first week of December.
  • Donate hats, scarves, gloves, and coats to the Warm and Fuzzy Tree downstairs in the foyer.
  • Join us Saturday, December 3rd, from 10:00-12:00 at Mansfield Toy Time to prepare toys for distribution. (Sign-up sheet available at the Information Center.)

From the donations collected by the children's mission banks, the children will be sending $500 to Father's House, Kyiv Ukraine for orphan care. Father’s House was brought to our attention by Vic and Darla D’ttorre, a local couple who live and teach in Ukraine. The program’s goal is to provide children with needed medical treatment and help in finding a forever-family. Father’s House is a unique care center for children in Ukraine. The children hear the message of their Heavenly Father and salvation through Jesus Christ.
