Next Sunday, August 1st, will be our Missions Sunday. Bill and Wini Babione will be here to speak with us from Hungary. Also, during the Sunday School hour at 8:45 am, there will be tables set up in the Ministry Center featuring each of our missionaries. "Passports" will be given to each person at the door, and they will be stamped as you visit each table where there will also be food from the country of each missionary. Donuts and coffee will also be available. There will be NO regular Sunday School classes that day. |

Please welcome Gary and Laura Griffin who will be speaking with us Sunday, April 11, 2010. They are missionaries serving with World Gospel Missions in Honduras. They will also have a question and answer time during the Sunday School hour in Pastor Dave's Hebrews class. You can also see their information table in the foyer today. |

On Sunday, January 11, 2009, the missions committee kicked off their Penny-A-Meal program to help get our children more involved in missions and in giving.
Here's how it works! At each meal, you drop a penny into the bank. Then each communion Sunday you bring your bank to church and sometime during the communion service you will have an opportunity to empty your bank into the globe. What does a penny a meal add up to? It adds up to approximately $1.00 a month or $12.00 a year.
What will we use it for? We will use it for our missionaries when they have special needs or special projects. We will be reporting back to you when we use the money, telling you how we used it and giving you update from the missionaries so you can see what a penny in God's hands can do! We also had quite a number of people who wanted to participate along with the children! If you would like to participate, we will be glad to get a bank for you. This will be a wonderful example to the children, too, to see others involved in giving.
We want to give a special thanks to Dave Lillo for getting the banks for us and a special thanks to Suzy Bacon for making the globe that the banks will be emptied into. Thank you for your continued support and prayers, and we know our missionaries appreciate it too! |
